“If you’re a parent let’s look at some stats.
Your son has a 0.00321% chance of being falsely accused of sexual assault. In comparison, your chance of being struck by lightening is slightly higher at 0.0083%
Your daughter has a 25% chance of being sexually assaulted sometime in her life.
If your response is to proclaim “it’s a scary time for young men in this country” then congrats you’re not only contributing to the sad fact that only about 1/3 of sexual abuse is actually reported but you’ve also made it known to any women in your life that they can’t trust you when it happens to them.”
